This branding project was for a surf school targeting intermediate and advanced surfers, aiming to push their skills further. The goal was to break away from conventional surf visuals and create a modern, bold identity that conveyed the intensity, adrenaline, and progression of the sport.
Branding Concept
Logo Design
We created a custom, all-type logo with angular, sweeping lines to reflect the sport’s energy and the school’s focus on continuous improvement. The sharp, dynamic lines symbolize speed, power, and progression, while the stylized waves instantly connect the design to surfing.
Color Palette
A bold black-and-white contrast was chosen to convey intensity and adrenaline, highlighting the school’s high-energy approach.
Typography
The modern, bold sans-serif typography, using the Margo + Beuys Black typeface, reinforces the sharp, dynamic feel of the brand, blending professionalism with energy.
Character Illustration
Custom wave-inspired illustration was crafted to complement the logo, featuring action-driven symbols like surfboards, water sprays, and the shaka sign, reinforcing the surfing context and the school’s energetic spirit.
